Recently Facebook unveils new apps for timeline features. These apps are related to the photos, travel, movies or fashion. So now you can enhance your timeline with these newly added apps. Facebook adding almost 60 new apps in these categories.
Once you’ve added an app, you can begin updating your timeline with your activities as they happen. For example, if you love design, shopping or fashion, you can add the Pinterest or Pose apps to make your favorite items part of your timeline.
Facebook is calling it “frictionless sharing”. Once users sign up for the apps, they will automatically share your activity through Facebook.
The company, tipped for a $100bn initial public offering, is looking for new ways to get people to spend more time on the site – which will attract more advertising.
The latest apps include Ticketmaster, movie review site Rotten Tomatoes, and Foodspotting. But developers are expected to create many more apps.
“We think that thousands of applications will be built on this platform in the coming weeks and months,” said Carl Sjogreen, Facebook director of platform products, at the launch of the apps in San Francisco.
How to add apps to your timeline
Timeline apps are for the activities you want to share with friends. You choose when to add an app, and you decide who can see it. After you’ve added an app, you can always remove posts directly from timeline, and you can also edit your settings from your personal Activity Log.
