Microsoft Plans to launch the desktop clients for Windows and Mac users with a lot of new features on the next update of SkyDrive which was SkyDrive wave 5 M3(version 16.3).
The main features which would be coming into the new version is, URL shortening using the sdrv.ms domaind, file size increased to 300MB, at present it is 100MB, support OpenDocument formats, easy sharing to Twitter and BitLocker recovery keys stored on SkyDrive.
Also Windows Phone users is the new capability to access files on your desktop after installing the native SkyDrive for Windows app which was recently discovered. The app will allow users to access files from a remote web browser that reside on your desktop at home, previously a feature of Live Mesh, and potentially very powerful if it integrates deeply.
Currently SkyDrive’s Office Web Apps only allow creation of Microsoft Office’s Open XML formats (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx), however in the next update SkyDrive will support OpenDocument Formats (.odt, .odp, .ods) as well.

Also Individual file size limit increased to 300MB, and if you plans to more space than you have to pay $11, $27 and $54 for 20Gb, 50GB and 100GB of storage.
