VideoLAN, pushed the open-source cross-platform VLC media player to version 2.0 with many new features across Mac, Windows and Unix versions. This new version is total rewrite of the program with the new capabilities and an all-new user interface on the Mac platform.
For Windows operating system it is available to 64-bit version, C-64 SID file playback support and a switch to Direct2D video outputs on Windows 7 and Windows Vista systems.
For Mac operating system VLC media player 2.0 will support the Blu-ray media and get a new iTunes-esque look and for Lion it will support full screen mode.
Others features are a new subtitle manager and support for multiple videos inside RAR files and an iOS version makes a return to the fold, with the development of an Android version appearing in the change log.
